TreatmentSprycel 20mg Tablet is used in the treatment of blood cancer (Chronic myeloid leukaemia). It is used in patients whose disease could not be treated with other medications for leukaemia or who cannot take these medications because of side effects.
Side EffectsNausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Rash, Headache, Edema (swelling), Low blood platelets, Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Breathing difficulty, Anemia (low number of red blood cells), Fatigue, Infection, Fever, Bleeding.
Method of UseTake this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sprycel 20mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
How WorksSprycel 20mg Tablet is an anti-cancer medication. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps to stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.

Suggestions
- Dasatinib is not recommended for use in patients <18 years of age.
- Do not take medicines that neutralise stomach acids (antacids) within 2 hours before or 2 hours after taking dasatinib.
- Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines to thin the blood or prevent clots, if you have or have had liver or heart problem or if you start having difficulty breathing, chest pain, or a cough while taking dasatinib.
- Exercise caution while taking dasatinib if you have been diagnosed with intolerance to lactose.
- Do not drive or operate machinery while taking dasatinib as it may cause dizziness and blurring of vision.
- Avoid if allergic to dasatinib or any of its ingredients.
